Think: * **Yarn & Thread:** Knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross-stitch, hand-sewing, mending. * **Paper & Sketching:** Sketchbooks, adult coloring books, watercolors, bullet journaling. * **Digital:** Tablets, iPad drawing, laptop writing/design. * *Please note: Because we are meeting in a shared public space, no power tools, sewing machines, or high-odor materials (like strong solvents or spray glues), please!* **📍 Where to Find Us** * We will be meeting at **Columbus Metropolitan Library - Franklinton Branch** in **Meeting Room**. Room is reserved under **CBUS Maker Meetup.** **⏱️ Timeline** * **1:30 PM:** Arrive, grab a seat, get settled, and do a quick round of introductions so we can see what everyone is working on. * **1:45 PM - 3:30 PM:** Open maker time! Chat, craft, relax, and swap creative ideas. **⚠️ A Note on RSVPs** Space for this meetup is limited to 10 spots. If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" as soon as possible so someone on the waitlist can grab your spot. Grab a cup of coffee from Winston's Coffee & Waffles or on your way to East Market and meet us on the second floor - table behind or east of the elevator. International transplants to Columbus who want to improve language skills, Columbus residents who enjoy talking to people from other countries, and those who would like to discuss international travel and culture, and who enjoy getting together for good conversations."
Barcelona Wine Dinner and Columbus Museum of Art
Sun, Nov 22, 8:00 PMAn afternoon of great culture, wine and food. First we tour the Columbus Museum of Art, then gather for a splendid wine dinner at Barcelona. See the pics from our previous Barcelona events. Information is preliminary at this time and will update ASAP. This is an expensive event to put on; **and I will collect the fee for the wine in advance, approximately $45.** Payment will by Venmo or arrangement with me. You will initially be put on the wait list until payment is arranged. We'll meet inside the CMofA at 3pm. Please be prompt. Tour together or in small groups and enjoy as much of the museum until closing at 5pm. Then, we'll depart for Barcelona Restaurant. 263 East Whittier Street German Village, Columbus, OH 43206. Parking is miserable. Dinner will be individually selected (and paid) but there will be an approximately $45 surcharge for the wine. I will have five selections, approximate of mid-priced to higher Spanish wines so that the quality will be better than the wines-by-the-glass selections. I'll have Cava to start, then a white, a lighter reds such grancha, a medium body red, and at least one, big complex red with bottle age. We welcome artists whose work explores the intimate, the unsettling, the political, or the quietly profound.** **We invite artists to submit work that reflects on animal lives, agency, vulnerability, resistance, and our complicated relationship with the more-than-human world.**
