Last year, we followed up our Anniversary Party film NOBODY with the sequel NOBODY 2! This year, we’re following up one epic Greek tale with another! We’ll see Christopher Nolan’s take on THE ODYSSEY for the group anniversary party on 7/19! And for this event on 7/26 we’ll enjoy the stellar Broadway musical, HADESTOWN! Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: From Broadway to the Big Screen, this presentation of HADESTOWN is a not theatrical adaptation of a beloved musical but a chance to see the actual musical featuring many of the original cast members from the hit Broadway production, recorded at the Lyric Theatre in London! Set to New Orleans-style jazz, the musical follows Orpheus and Eurydice. Desperate to get his love back, he travels down into Hadestown! The stellar cast features many from the original Broadway production, including Reeve Carney as Orpheus, André De Shields as Hermes, Amber Gray as Persephone, Eva Noblezada as Eurydice and Patrick Page as Hades.
TRAILER: Unsure? Check out this trailer and I think you'll be sold! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76Q5TWHslOE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76Q5TWHslOE)
MOVIE PLAN: Please purchase your ticket for the 1:00pm showing and meet in the lobby area between 12:35 and 12:45pm. Once you have your ticket, please list your seat number in the Comments section of this event. As a head’s up, tickets for this show are moving FAST! This theater / time selected because nearly every other theater/showtime this weekend is nearly sold out! Advance ticket purchase as soon as possible is advised!
DINNER PLAN: Dinner immediately following the show at nearby Cap City Fine Diner! Always a great meal and a fun time! Seating is limited for the dinner portion of the event, so if you’d like to join in for dinner, please be sure to RSVP in BOTH the Movie and Dinner Portions of the event.
Should be a fun one, Dan

Join fellow Unity of Columbus members at the Columbus Museum of Arts on Sunday, August 9, from 2:00–3:30 p.m.

This area has easy access to food trucks and beer, wine and cocktail trucks. The Celtic Sports area is nearby (Highland Games). Lots of restroom trucks, too.
**COST**: Purchase discount tickets now for only $20 ($30 general admission - age 10+ or $20 Seniors at the gate). Tickets are non-refundable. (I wait and get them at gate)

**WEAR**: Summer Fest wear - nice t-shirt & shorts, comfy shoes (fest is on 38 acres of grass, trails and sidewalks).
**NEWBIES**: This event is very freeform so I would suggest coming along with a buddy as members will be coming and going from our circle.

**A Film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick**
Frank Lloyd Wright tells the story of the greatest of all American architects. Wright was an authentic American genius, a man who believed he was destined to redesign the world, creating everything anew. Over the course of his long career, he designed over eight hundred buildings, including such revolutionary structures as the Guggenheim Museum, the Johnson Wax Building, Fallingwater, Unity Temple and Taliesin. His buildings and his ideas changed the way we live, work and see the world around us.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural achievements were often overshadowed by the turbulence of his melodramatic life. In ninety-two tempestuous years, he fathered seven children, married three times, and was almost constantly embroiled in scandal. Some hated him, some loved him, and in the end, few could deny that he was the one of the most important architects in the world.
**Frank Lloyd Wright** Sr. (June 8, 1867 – April 9, 1959) was an American architect, designer, writer, and educator. He designed more than 1,000 structures over a creative period of 70 years. Wright played a key role in the architectural movements of the twentieth century, influencing architects worldwide through his works and mentoring hundreds of apprentices. Wright believed in designing in harmony with humanity and the environment, a philosophy he called organic architecture. This philosophy was exemplified in Fallingwater (1935), which has been called "the best all-time work of American architecture".
Wright was a pioneer of what came to be called the Prairie School movement of architecture and also developed the concept of the Usonian home, his vision for urban planning in the United States. Wright also designed original and innovative offices, churches, schools, skyscrapers, hotels, museums, and other commercial projects. Wright-designed interior elements (including leaded glass windows, floors, furniture and even tableware) were integrated into these structures. He wrote several books and numerous articles and was a popular lecturer in the United States and in Europe. Wright was recognized in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects as "the greatest American architect of all time". In 2019, a selection of his work became a listed World Heritage Site under the name The 20th-Century Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright.
Raised in rural Wisconsin, Wright studied civil engineering at the University of Wisconsin and later apprenticed in Chicago, first briefly with Joseph Lyman Silsbee, and then with Louis Sullivan at Adler & Sullivan. Wright opened his own successful Chicago practice in 1893 and established a studio in his Oak Park, Illinois home in 1898.
