We will be doing a 5 mileish walk to Citi Walk . We will conquer the dreaded hill up to the top without a shuttle : ) last person up the hill is probably out of shape. Dont worry no walker left behind ( most of the time ). We will do some stairs but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. There is an elevator. FRIDAY--Easy Night walk around Silverlake

Silverlake can be quite beautiful at night. Walk is mostly easy 2.2 miles RT around the lake. Walk is approx. 1 hour. There is short uphill on this walk--approx. 10 minutes Some members go to the local Oyster bar afterwards. **Rain will cancel walk. Dogs ok as long as on leash.** Parking: Street parking. There is more parking when you park along the lake --along W. Silverlake Dr.

TeePee & Bonus Peak Conditioning - Advanced

(Check comments for updates) Join us for a great conditioning hike with some nice scenic views as well. It is very steep in parts so it will give you an excellent cardio, leg, and butt workout. (Event is cross-posted) **TRAINING CONCEPT:** The focus will be to get a great cardio, butt, and leg workout going up very steep inclines. This will essentially be a form of interval training, which is actually quite effective for increasing your cardio capacity/fitness level. We'll all push ourselves a bit to get our heart rate up and then catch our breath and re-group at the junctions and hilltops. **DIFFICULTY: ADVANCED** You already need to be well conditioned for this workout. Although the distance is relatively short this is a high intensity workout and several sections are **very steep**. We'll be power-walking uphill to get our heart rate up to improve our conditioning. Due to the steepness it is important to wear shoes with great traction. Also, part of the trail is a little overgrown so I would recommend long pants. **THE PLAN:** We will meet at the La Cañada Open Space trailhead on El Vago St in La Cañada Flintridge at 8:50 AM, do some stretching and introductions etc. and get started heading up the trail at 9:00 AM. We'll take a little break when we get to the Teepee before continuing up to the top of the next peak just beyond that. We'll enjoy the view and head back down the same way we came. **DISTANCE & ELEVATION GAIN:** About 5 miles and about 2070 ft. or so of elevation gain. **TIME REQUIRED:** About 3 hours or so. **WHAT TO BRING:** * Trail running shoes or flexible hiking booths with plenty of traction (important) * Long pants * Hydration system (best) or a bottle with water or Gatorade etc. * Your cell phone (make sure organizer has your number). **PARKING:** There should be plenty of parking along El Vago St. **NO SHOWS:** It is inconsiderate to the organizer and anyone on the waiting list to RSVP and not show up, therefore I am registering no-shows. For this event you need to change your RSVP to "No" minimum 45 minutes before the start of the event.
