Walk - Shackerstone and Market Bosworth

A 9-mile walk from Shackerstone in Leicestershire. Meet outside the Rising Sun pub on Church Road.
The route will take us over fields and through woodland to Market Bosworth, via Barton-in-the-Beans. After a lunch stop at Market Bosworth Country Park we will head down to the Ashby canal and take the tow path back to Shackerstone.

There are no toilets at the start, but facilities are available at our lunch stop, and the pub will be open by the time we return to Shackerstone.

Please park considerately on Church Road or nearby streets.

Due to limited parking numbers have been limited to 20 - however this applies to cars, not people, so walkers who will be arriving as a passenger are welcome but do not need to book. Similarly you do not need to book a guest place for anyone who will travel with you in the same car.

Please note:
1. Please bring a packed lunch and sufficient drink for a day walk - there will be no opportunity to purchase food or drink before our lunch stop.
2. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and bring/wear waterproofs. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Don't forget your sunscreen!
