Watermead - Leicester

Meet at Whiles Lane, Birstall where the River Soar runs past.
This is an 8 mile easy walk, we follow the River Soar all the way to Abbey Park and slightly beyond following the canal. Then return basically the same route but other side of the river and a small loop of one of the lakes in Watermead. The whole route is paved and flat so feel free to wear your Sunday best.
Toilet and cafe in Shabbey park.
If we are lucky we may spot a trolley in the canal or a burnt out bin.
There is limited amount of free on road parking on Whiles Lane and elsewhere in Birstall.
