"Join the group for an evening filled with talks, workshops and performances as Christie's Auction House celebrates the artistic legacy of Pablo Picasso, one of history’s greatest visionaries. 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Pablo Picasso, and the next edition of Christie’s Lates will form part of a global year-long programme of auctions and initiatives exploring his astonishing oeuvre of over 20,000 paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, theatre sets and costumes. Delve into the heart of his creative process, discovering the ingenious techniques that brought his creations to life and how his revolutionary approach continues to shape contemporary art and design."

Entry to the event itself is free, attendance fee of £3 to myself to go towards covering Meetup site costs. We will socialise with a post-mortem chat over drinks afterwards. Please join us, we'll make you feel very welcome.

From experience, the space for workshops at Christie's Late is tiny: places fill up very quickly. If you want to attend any, your best bet is to aim there straight away and get your name on the list for a time slot. We will make sure that everyone knows where and when we'll regroup to go to the pub.

I am hoping that there will be some kind of performance, - as yet I have not seen the full programme. I will update either this section or the comments as soon as I find out. The performances at the last Late evnt was very worth the time. I also loved audiovisual presentations, and the variety of displays. Judging by the subject, the evening should cover a lot of Picasso's paintings, but I think there will be a focus on the range of his other works too. I can't wait to find out!

Please make sure that you are on time, the queue to get in can be very long and we need to join it 20 mins prior to door's opening at 6pm to stand a chance for workshop places and to pinpoint which rooms look the most promising, and at what times.

May I ask you to please be reliable and update your RSVP status if you can't make it? I must know by lunchtime if you can come. I will mark late changes/not turning up as a No-show (policy is group removal at 2 no-shows). Please ask me if you have a question about this.

Please bring change for the fee (in coins or a £5 note) and pay me when you arrive.

If you are early and feel like a swift half, find me upstairs in the Golden Lion. We will then meet outside this pub at 17:30 (under the street sign: Angel Court at the passage to the right of the pub) and go across on the dot of 17:40 to join the queue.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
