Juxtapositioned with buildings of the modern era, sat outside a monolith of a stronghold castle, nestled against office buildings that tried to take over - let's track down the remnants of the London wall from Roman, Medieval and Victorian times.

I know the route to take and where at least 11 areas are where we should be able to see the old London wall but I don't know if they are all still accessible. I know of at least one spot where the building sitting on top of this particular bit of wall is a construction site right now so we definitely can't get close up though I hope it will be possible again once this office building is fully refurbished. The museum of London wrote about 21 plaques in the 1980s, at least 10 of those have disappeared since. I'm not clear on whether that's just the plaque or the piece of wall as well.

We'll make our way from Tower Hill and see how far we get. We may want to stop when we had enough and even more importantly: when in easy walking distance of a suitable pub as our reward for our efforts!

The attendance fee is £5 in cash please to go towards the Meetup organiser's fee that I have to pay. Unfortunately I won't be able to go if we are fewer than four people, in that case I would like to postpone to another date. Fingers crossed that we are enough people.
