• 7:30 pm: Talks

Timothée Bronner - Invertible color mapping

Currently, most manufactured displays support UHD colors. However, not all service providers have updated their pipeline thoroughly. Thus, the end-user who buys a UHD display might not be able to benefit from its wider color range. The presented algorithm will ensure the compatibility with minimal color disruption between the UHD displays and the HD signal and its smaller color range sent to them.

Timothée Bronner is currently working as a data engineer for UBS. He did his studies at EPFL where he obtained two Master degrees. The first one was in Microengineering and the Thesis was developed at UBC Vancouver Canada (the presented topic is part of this Thesis). The second in data science with a Thesis conducted in collaboration with Swisscom.

Simone Grignola & Giuseppe Mendola - Inside the Cloud infrastructure of the Yellow Giant

The Swiss Post started its Cloud journey back in 2012 and today we run on a fully automated GitOps infrastructure that is used by 25 teams with more joining every month.
We’re going to present how the Cloud Foundation Team supports DevOps Teams enterprise-wide with Cloud onboarding even without any prior knowledge of AWS services.
We achieve that with abstraction, automation, personal support and providing a ready to use environment for DevOps Teams, so they can start to use resources with IaC and GitOps in the Swiss Post AWS Landing Zone.
On the example of the application "My Consignments", we will demonstrate how we have been able to move from an idea to a running application, supporting 2 million active users, in a short timeframe.
We proved it's possible for a larger organization to support cloud native initiatives from small teams, with collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Simone Grignola is a Cloud Architect at Swiss Post with the main task of wrapping the AWS services and offer them as a single platform to the different DevOps teams.
Outside work likes to work on home automation, play video games, watch TV series and spend time with the family.

Giuseppe Mendola is a software engineer based in the charming town of Lugano.
With a master's degree in IT, he is deeply passionate about technology and thrives on DIY projects, ranging from 3D printing to tinkering with IoT devices.
He also enjoys playing video games and continuously improving his skills at the shooting range.
