Very Warm Welcome Luleå Toastmasters club! :)
Luleå Toastmasters is a part of District - 95 of the world renowned public speaking organization - Toastmasters International. We are a bilingual speaking club (English + Swedish). Please feel free to speak in whatever language you prefer!
Luleå Toastmasters is an open group for all communication and public speaking enthusiasts ever since it started in the summer of 2016. We operate via hybrid meetings, every alternate WEDNESDAY.
Our prime purpose is to work on Public Speaking, Speech Delivery & Communication skills related to VOICE, BODY and MESSAGE.
We, at Luleå Toastmasters provide you a safe learning environment and a supportive platform (online and in-person) to practice and enhance your Public speaking, Presentation, Storytelling, Communication, Creative thinking, Active listening, Leadership, Mentorship skills, etc.
We offer useful and constructive feedback without any judgment for your speech delivery and communication style. We also strive to offer our members as well as our guests creative and innovative meetings so that everybody learns something new each time. :)

WHAT GOES ON IN A TOASTMASTER MEETING?
A club meeting is facilitated by several team-players. Before each meeting, there are many roles to be filled. Each role player plays an important part in making the club meeting experience enjoyable. All role players get to practice organization skills, time management as well as facilitation skills.
Mentioned below are the common roles of a general Toastmasters club meeting:
- The Toastmaster is a meeting's director and host.
- The Table Topics Master brings new and interesting topics for impromptu speeches (1-2 min) for guests as well as members.
- Table Topics Speakers enjoy developing their creative thinking and impromptu speaking skills.
- Every Speaker is a role model and club members learn from each other's speeches.
- The Speech Evaluator provides verbal and written feedback for prepared speeches.
- The Grammarian presents the "Word of the Day" (WOD), and closely watches upon the language, grammar and vocabulary used by the club members, thus helping them improve the same.
- The Ah-Counter notes down any over-used or un-necessary words or filler sounds, such as "ahh", "hmm", "so,", etc. that interrupt the flow of a sentence.
- The Timer notes down the time of each session thus managing the flow of the entire meeting, i.e. timely start and end. Thus, they need to keep good watch on the time for each and every role player.
- The General Evaluator evaluates everything that takes place during the club meeting, i.e. how was the execution of the agenda of the meeting - smooth, or interrupted, etc.

Note: Depending on the number of prepared speeches, a meeting typically lasts about 1.5 hours, however it could run over a few minutes sometimes.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
This is a free event for all guests and enthusiasts. As a guest, you are most welcome to attend our meetings as many times as you like (online or in-person), free of cost.
Later on, when you feel ready, and want to seriously commit to develop your Public Speaking and Leadership Skills, there is a small investment cost for 6 months, after which you can renew your membership. As a new member there is an additional enrolment fee.
