What we’re about
Every second Thursday we work on a Public Speaking skill related to your VOICE, your BODY or your MESSAGE. Luleå Toastmasters has been an open group for anyone to join since it started in the summer of 2016.
We provide a safe learning environment where people get to practice and receive useful and constructive feedback. Luleå Toastmasters also strives to offer our members and guests creative and innovative meetings so that everybody gets to try something new from time to time.

WHAT GOES ON IN A TOASTMASTER MEETING?
A club meeting is for team-players. At each meeting, there are many roles to fill and they play an important part in making the club experience enjoyable.
The Toastmaster is a meeting's director and host.
The General Evaluator evaluates everything that takes place during the club meeting.
Taking on the Table Topics Master role improves organization skills, time management and facilitation skills.
Table Topics Speakers enjoy developing their impromptu speaking skills.
Every Speaker is a role model and club members learn from one another's speeches.
The Speech Evaluator provides verbal and written feedback to prepared speeches.
The Grammarian helps club members improve their grammar and vocabulary.
The purpose of the Ah-Counter is to note any overused words or filler sounds.
Taking on the Timer role improves time management skills.

WHEN & WHERE?
Our usual meeting place is Foreningernes Hus, Storgatan 13, 97238 Luleå, Sweden. We have had online meetings since March 2020 due to the Corona virus / Covid-19 situation however we are looking forward to opening for meetings in person in spring 2021.
The meeting is open for networking from ca. 18:15 and starts at 18:30. Depending on the number of speeches planned, a meeting typically lasts 1.5 hours.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
This is a free meet up for guests to attend. You can come several times as a guest.
If you then like it and want to commit to developing your Public Speaking and Leadership Skills, the fee for six months is 500 SEK. As a new member there is additionally an enrolment fee.
