Meetup for Orchids, learning, snacks and fun!

Details
Hi everyone,
I have recently learned of a place to spend a fabulous, fun, healthy and educational place to spend my Saturday mornings and, amazingly, it is FREE!!!
At 10 a.m on April 15th, Chris, the "Orchid Whisperer" will be giving a one hour class on the basics of how to identify and care for several types of the most common orchids. I call Chris the Orchid Whisperer because he has walked me through how to take care of several neglected orchids I accidentally acquired and actually get them to BLOOM!!! In addition I have bought several types of orchids from the farm and they are thriving as well. It is quite a miracle to me as about four months ago when I first discover the Urban Farming Institute and Chris I could barely keep anything green alive let alone get it to blossom. And now I am seeing success in my orchids and my herbs.... but wait, I am getting ahead of myself.
I spend virtually every Saturday morning at the farm where not only do I learn gardening skills but they sell many types of beautiful plants (orchids, of course) and best of all they teach me how to nurture them and keep them alive and thriving!
Additionally, Howie, a Master Gardener, prepares hors d'ouvres, snacks and a new and exciting iced tea each week all prepared from organic veggies and produce from the farm.
Most weeks, Belle, chef extraordinaire, gives a cooking lesson at 11:00 a.m. where she does a cooking demonstration and gives us a copy of her recipes;
The farm also sells their own produce as well as the produce of other local organic farmers so until I start growing my own produce, this is where I frequently buy my special lettuces, tomatoes etc..
There is so much more to say about UFI but I'll stop now and let you learn for yourself (there are farming and volunteer opportunities which I hope to get involved with in the future).
So, I hope you'll join me and come early as seating is limited.
(BTW, since we are Lunch 'n Stuff we can grab a bite somewhere nearby if anybody is still hungry for a full lunch and/or catch a movie. I am going to leave it loose and open and we can take it from there that day if any of you have suggestions at that time. I know I probably won't still be hungry and a movie would probably work for me but I am flexible).
Yes, you can bring friends but PLEASE indicate the plus one when you sign up so Howie will know how many hors d'ouvres to prepare and they can try to accommodate us for seating.
If you come, you will be in for quite a treat!!! And all classes and snacks are free.
I am really looking forward to making new friends with whom I can share
this fabulous hobby!
:) Fran
