Sunday hike from Esch to Dudelange (15.4km)

Details
Hello Friends!
Join us for a scenic 15km hike in the south of Luxembourg, starting in the heart of "terra rouge" in Esch, and making our way through Rumelange all the way to Dudelange, the endpoint of this hike.
The route is basically split into 2 equal sections with Rumelange in the middle, both of which have some climbing to do to get from the towns to the top of the plateaus between the towns. Total ascent will be 355 meters.
As we have the town of Rumelange in the middle, this is the place where we will take a short break and have some lunch. For people that would be too tired to go on, there is the opportunity to take bus 508 from Rumelange straight back to Luxembourg Gare, which makes Rumelange also our only "early exit" possibility.
This is a point-to-point hike, meaning our endpoint is at a different location than our starting point, which means that careful planning is required to get to and from the hike, especially when people want to use a car to get there.
Difficulty:
This hike has a PADS rating of 2.7, which makes it of moderate difficulty, primarily driven by the distance:
Pace: 2.4 --> between 4 and 5 km/h
Ascent: 2.4 --> 355m of elevation
Distance: 3.5 --> 15.4km of distance
Surface: 2.0 --> well defined hiking trails
Total: 2.7
Meeting Point:
We will meet at the bus station in front of the Gare Esch/Alzette

Public Transport:
Public transport is a bit tricky this time, as trains between Luxembourg City and Bettembourg are not running during this summer because of the building works for the TGV extension.
Alternatives:
From Luxembourg Gare:
Bus L60, leaving 09:40 from Luxembourg Gare, in the direction of Bettembourg, Gare routière), after which you can take RB6710 towards Rodange at 10:16, arriving at Esch/Alzette at 10:27.
Carpool:
Carpooling is a serious option, but with a caveat (as this is a point to point hike).
I would suggest to carpool to Bettembourg train station, and take the train from there to Esch. This way, on the way back, you could take the train (or bus) from Dudelange back to Bettembourg, and carpool back from there (or, alternatively, take a bus from Bettembourg)
Train to pick from Bettembourg to Esch: RB6710, leaving at 10:16 from Bettembourg, arriving 10:27 in Esch/Alzette.
There are parking places around Bettembourg Gare, please check on Google maps for their locations.
I have set up a carpool, which can be used to plan carpools together:

Disclaimer:
The hike is at your own risk, and please make sure to wear proper shoes and bring some water and food for yourself!
The weather looks sunny and warm for the weekend, so please make sure you can stay hydrated during the hike.
Looking forward to hiking with you!
