Hiking Group Barbecue and Party (get on waiting-list!)

Please read all of the below carefully!

Our "end-of-summer" barbecue and party will take place in 2 weeks.
It has almost become a tradition already, like our "happy-new-year-hangover" hikes.

The plan:
The location will be the Walferdange Tennis Club pavilion:

We will meet at 18:00 there, the BBQ will probably start around 19:00, and the party can go on until 1 am or even longer (nuit blanche).

It's within walking distance from the Walferdange train station and the bus stop "Helmsange, Tricentenaire"

It's highly recommended that you take public transport!

The last regular buses near the premises will leave around midnight, but it's only a 3km walking distance to a bus stop of the CN6 line

The Weather:
It's hard to predict in advance; there may be rain, or maybe not.
Most of the party is supposed to be outside, so make sure that you dress accordingly. If it rains cats and dogs, we can go inside, and we will also have a tent again, like last year.

The Menu:
The menu will be Greek-themed:
Greek meatballs (Keftedakia), Gyros and Souvlaki from the barbecue, fries, and various salads. There will also be vegan sausages for our vegan and vegetarian friends.
The cost for food will be a fixed price of 25 EUR per person, including one "welcome drink" of your choice (beer, wine, cremant, juice).

Everyone is to pay for drinks at the bar separately!

The buffet style has proven successful, and we count on you to make sure that everyone gets a fair share.
Also, we need to make sure that our vegan or vegetarian friends get first access to the vegan sausages, so if you’re not vegan/vegetarian, please don't decide only at the event that you want to try a vegan sausage if you didn’t tell us so beforehand ;)

The sign-up procedure:
The venue limits us to a maximum of 50 people, which is a big challenge for a group with more than 2000 members. We need to hand-pick and confirm registrations individually.

• Everyone who registers will get on the waiting list first; the limit will be set to "1" for that reason.
• Then, I’ll confirm people manually until we reach the maximum number of attendees.
• Since this is a social gathering for those who regularly attend our hikes, confirmations will be partially "first come, first serve", but mainly considering how often you have joined our hikes.
• We’ll prioritize our regulars—the ones who came for many hikes this year, and the ones who have joined us occasionally for several years.

If you have just signed up for the group but never attended a hike, please don't be offended if you are not picked this time—it's about the maximum limit and prioritization.

Payment and refund:

• Attendees will need to prepay 25 EUR per person.
• After you register, I will send Payconiq and PayPal information.
• We can only promise refunds before Thursday, 11th. If your plans change and you cannot make it, please cancel as soon as you know.
• If you need to cancel after Thursday, you have to "sell your seat" to someone on the waiting list!

Timeline:
We will finalize registrations and prepayments by Wednesday night. On Thursday, we’ll give the details to the venue. After Thursday, we won’t be able to make changes or issue refunds, so please make sure your details are accurate by Wednesday night.

The main part of the event will be to socialize, have some drinks together, have good talks, good laughs, and good music.
