Backpacking Basics -a Tier 2 ORLP workshop

Details
Please join the waitlist for this event and then complete the required application: Apply HERE
This workshop is designed for trip leaders who are interested in starting to lead backpacking trips. We will be backpacking and activities will focus on gear, trip planning, and skills for backpacking. ORLP intermediate (Tier 2) workshops are open to those who have taken our introductory-level (Tier 1) workshops or those who are already leading trips in the outdoors.
We have a short application for these intermediate workshops and will move applicants off of the waitlist within four business days if they are accepted into the program. You must use the application form above in addition to signing up through MeetUp.
If you do not have the appropriate gear, we will provide it, but it is essential that you are properly fitted for your gear before this workshop. Participants in the March navigation workshop at Red Rock Canyon can be fitted by Erin at the workshop or you can visit your local outdoor retailer to be fitted. The application asks for the required information so that we can provide gear that will fit you. Do NOT feel that you must buy gear before this workshop -this is a chance to try out gear before you buy anything.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop will be limited to 6-8 participants (some may register using the SNAP website and not MeetUp) depending on the number of staff who can help.
