Tier 1 Introduction to Navigation

Details
NOTE: This is our last workshop based on the current funding situation. If additional funding becomes available, we will continue to offer them here.
This is our Navigation workshop redesigned for those who have little to no experience with a compass and a map. We realized that Tier 2 was too advanced for some of our participants and so we created this version to specifically address the needs of those folks who need more of an introduction. You will learn how to hold and read a compass and the symbols and markings on maps and how to relate them to the landscape around you. At the end of the workshop, you will have the basic skills to have a backup to your navigation apps so you don't have to worry about getting lost when your battery dies.
All are welcome -we are offering this to beta test our instructor version and need your feedback before we hand this off to public land agencies to run. This is at Foxtail Picnic Area on Mr. Charleston which has extremely limited parking so the number of participants will be limited to six unless folks are willing to carpool -reach out to Erin about that option.
This area does not show up on MeetUp.
Location: From Las Vegas, Nevada, take Highway 95 north to the junction with Highway 156/Lee Canyon, turn left and travel approximately 19 miles to the picnic area, which is on the left.
