Did you miss out on last year's 3D printer workshop? Are you tired of waiting for the Makerbots at LVL1 to clear up, or want to tinker with your own 3D printer? Do you desperately need lots of melted plastic in your workshop? Then I have the workshop for you!

Last year Sonny swept into LVL1 with his friends from SeeMeCNC, and they hosted a FANTASTIC 2 day Prusa i2 Buildoff. That workshop is back, but with the newer, better, faster Prusa i3. Seating is limited, and Sonny needs deposits early to start putting together kits, so get in touch with him now: Sonny@Mounicou.com

Details from the blog post:

Sonny has lead 42 builders across 4 build events to create their 3d printers. In a weekend worth of time, you could have a 3d printer as well! Please see the details below.

Purpose
The goal is to start with a set of parts that we provide and end the weekend with a working printer. This normally takes people months to get worked out. At the event, we’ll provide you with the guidance to get it built, the familiarity to use your printer going forward, and experts to help troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Timing
We are presently looking at the weekend of May 31st for the build. This date is only moveable by a unanimous vote of all attendees!
Logistics
In order to make this viable, we’ll need at least 12 – 15 (or assembled) printers being build. In addition, to make the upgrade option viable we will need 5 participants. The slots filled up quickly last time. I would urge you to reserve your seat ASAP.
Pricing
We will be building an aluminum frame I3 for this build event. There will be three different options to choose from:
Conversion: $300
If you have been part of one of my previous build events, I will offer an upgrade option to convert your I2 to an I3. The instructions I provide will make the assumption that you have kept your I2 as built. If you have customized it, you can still participate but will need to improvise. You will need to print your own plastic parts.
New I3 Printer: $950
This will be an aluminum frame I3 with Rambo electronics, precision bearings and shafts, an electronics enclosure, and a heated build platform. I am working to include an all metal hot end in this price so that you can print any plastic material. I am also looking to include an LCD control. I will confirm that as we get closer to the event.
Assembled I3 Printer:$1450
For this build I’m going to offer an special option for those who don’t want to do it themselves. I’ll assemble, calibrate, and bring the I3 with me to the event. It will be identical to the new I3 above, but ready to go.
Payment
I will be offering a payment schedule to help make this more achievable for participants. Please send your deposits via paypal to “sonny@mounicou.com”.
