Tech Talk: August 2013 - 3D Printing

Take a tour of 3D printing with Glenn Adams. From the long view of additive manufacturing, and the powerful role it plays enabling innovation and entrepreneurship, to a close up look at the technology behind 3D printing - you'll definitely find this talk enlightening.

More than just a live demo - but there will be on of those too - you get an understanding of each step in the 3D printing process. Learn how a model is represented by an STL file, how that STL is converted to g-code, how the printer's firmware interprets the g-code, and the mechanics involved in turning that g-code into a physical object.
