Economic espionage is a problem that costs the American economy billions of dollars annually and puts our national security at risk. The espionage takes many forms including break-ins to both physical and electronic files. The techniques can be bold and audacious and sometimes, an inside job, as you’ll see in this video (https://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/economic-espionage).

Special Agent Charles P. Kelly entered on duty with the FBI in November of 1996 and was assigned to the Boston Division where he worked white collar and violent crime matters. Mr. Kelly served as the Violent Fugitive Task Force Coordinator during his tenure in the Boston Division. In 2002, Mr. Kelly was transferred to the New York Division where he worked white collar crime and counterintelligence matters. Mr. Kelly was also the Assistant Confidential Human Source Coordinator while assigned to the New York Division. In 2013, Mr. Kelly was transferred to the Philadelphia Division working counterintelligence matters and is currently the Counterintelligence Strategic Partnership and Domestic Security Alliance Coordinator for the Division. He has a B.S. degree from St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to entering the Bureau, Mr. Kelly worked as a Philadelphia Police Detective.
