A film directed by Thomas Cailley, starring Romain Duris, Paul Kircher, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Tom Mercier and Billie Blain.
In a world hit by a wave of mutations that are gradually transforming some humans into animals, François does everything he can to save his wife, who is affected by this mysterious condition. As some of the creatures disappear into a nearby forest, he embarks with Émile, their 16-year-old son, on a quest that will change their lives forever.
Join us at the Auditorium of the Lycée Français de New York to see the hand-crafted second feature from director Thomas Cailley was released in 2023, nearly ten years after the critically acclaimed Love at First Sight (Les Combattants). This father-and-son adventure set in the Landes forest develops in a world where a mysterious virus turns humans into fantastic beasts. As David Fear stated in The Rolling Stone: "Come for the way this film twists a disaster-movie premise into sociological commentary while still bringing the weirdness. Stay for how Kircher and Duris embed a father-son story into the fantastical elements and transform a far-out tale of genetics run amuck into an elegy about the pain of letting go."
