Introduction to Oil Painting (Saturday, January 17th 3:00-5:00p)

With guidance from local Lyons artist Amanda Anderson, during this workshop you will have the opportunity to finish an 8x10" oil painting. Using water-mixable oils, we will learn about different mediums, mixing color, canvas prep and brush techniques. According to Amanda, this class "is definitely for someone who wants to learn the basics of realistic oil painting."

The primary teaching method that Amanda uses is the "Alla Prima Method" (Italian for "first attempt.") That means that you will complete your painting in a single session, with a "wet on wet" approach to finishing your work. (Psst: there are no grades or critiques here - just come with a willingness to learn and have fun!) 😊🎨
