A weekly meet to work on our lyric writing skills together.
The way it usually goes :
A few Object Writing* rounds, a favorite from the canon, Write Better Lyrics, by P. Pattinson, to get our reps in, followed by other exercises — I adapt the program depending on who shows up.
If you have a a hard time carving out time to write, finding the motivation to keep up with it, need some accountability with your writing goals, or want a change of pace from practicing by yourself and want meet fellow writers / artists and have a space to practice in community, then this group is for you.
All levels welcome. I’m not here as a teacher per se, just as a facilitator for a collective practice, suggesting exercises and guiding the group through them. My hope is that we find joy in sharing our individual journeys as songwriters.
*Object Writing : a noun picked through a random word generator, and a 10 min timer to delve into our senses and free -flow with this prompt. We then take turn sharing what we came up with.
