CLAYWALK
Details
Get your hands dirty and dive into a creative clay adventure with wild clay foraging and creating pieces in the wild
Clay Walk is a slow exploration across the Arrábida plains where we learn to see the land differently — noticing where clay forms, how to recognize it, and how to tell one type from another. You’ll learn simple field techniques to test wild clay and understand which kinds are suitable for ceramics and which are not.
We’ll also touch on the origins and history of clay as a material, its unique properties, and why it has been used for thousands of years. Along the way, we’ll collect and experiment with natural clay, shaping small test pieces that will later be fired — you’ll be able to keep your own piece made from truly wild clay.
The exact location in Arrábida Natural Park will be shared with participants after booking.
