M365 North - 10th Birthday + Enabling low code (Ian Tweedie and Mike Stephenson)

Details

Well, well, well, we are 10 Years old and we would like you to join us for an in-person event to celebrate this feat.

The kind people at Everon have allowed us to use their offices in Leeds. There will be food, drink and a session or two.

We are going to start the event a little earlier so that those finishing work can come straight over.

We will kick off with a birthday celebration and then we have two legends that are Ian Tweedie followed by Mike Stephenson. Ian will talk about "Enabling low code developers to create custom client reports with a helping hand from Azure." Mike will be talking and comparing Azure Functions vs Logic Apps.

Afterwards, there will be food, drink and a special message from another legend in the Microsoft 365 space.

Enabling low code developers to create custom client reports with a helping hand from Azure.

Many of us have found a way to deliver custom reports from Dataverse, or other outputs to our clients via low code tools such as Power Automate. Maybe we have used the Word connector, Dataverse, a bit of SharePoint, and a sprinkle of Outlook to deliver it.
Maybe we have created a mail merge type flow, but what and when do you trigger it?
Ever wondered if you could get the client to trigger it via a web link?
Ever wondered if you could get the client to trigger it via a web link in the context of themselves?
Ever wondered if you could get the client to trigger it via a web link in the context of themselves, with Single Sign on?
In this presentation I’ll show you how, with a bit of Azure, you can enable low-code developers to create custom client reports, or any other output you can think of, using Power Automate, whether it be for membership certificates, invoices, or anything else.

Ian is a Power Platform Technical Consultant for Capgemini.
He is an experienced technical consultant for Capgemini specialising in the Power Platform and related technologies. Formerly an IT Manager turned developer, he began with low code and has steadily advanced towards pro code. With extensive experience in Azure and Office 365 migrations, he settled into the Power Platform a few years ago. Ian holds 16 Microsoft Certifications, runs a blog called TechTweedie where he shares his expertise, has published a certified Power Automate connector, and possesses various other qualifications, including a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Outside of his day job, Ian serves as a trustee for digital transformation for Prosper Learning Trust.

Logic Apps vs Power Automate - Who will win? (Mike Stephenson - Azure MVP)

Abstract
Where do I use which technology is one of the most common challenges people have when making decisions on your architecture. In this session, we will talk about Logic Apps and Power Automate and discuss the similarities, differences and overlaps and try to demystify things to help you make this decision.

We look forward to you joining us and helping us celebrate!
