What we’re about

I want to create a community of people who support each other around the topic of personal growth.

We will be meeting to exchange our experiences and ideas around personal growth, creating meaningful connections, overcoming challenges, and establishing and maintaining healthy habits.

Please note this is not about professional development, but rather focused on the mental, physical, social, and emotional aspects.

I want this to be an inclusive and accessible space, therefore the below will NOT be tolerated (no matter how subtle):

  • ableism
  • transphobia
  • racism
  • inappropriate behaviour that makes people uncomfortable
  • using the group to offer paid services of any kind

Important: this group is not a substitute for professional (mental) health support. If you are struggling, please seek professional help. If you aren’t sure how, message me and I will do my best to point you in the right direction.

Year Compass - looking back at 2025

Year Compass - looking back at 2025

Centre Ceramique, Avenue Ceramique 50, Maastricht, NL

UPDATE: this may end up taking place online, depending on circumstances. Will be confirmed closer to the date.

If I look back at 2025 from today, it feels (to me) like the year went by very quickly. A lot has happened - successes, challenges, disappointments.

For a few years now, I’ve been using the free YearCompass booklet to reflect on the past year (and to “plan” the next one).

What is YearCompass?
“YearCompass is a free booklet that helps you reflect on the year and plan the next one. With a set of carefully selected questions and exercises, YearCompass helps you uncover your own patterns and design the ideal year for yourself.”

—-> So for this last event of 2025, I would like to invite you to join me in looking back at 2025 through the lens of life areas that are particularly important to you.

Let’s share our wins and disappointments, and in preparing for this meetup, let’s reflect on what they have meant for us this year.

You can find the life areas on page 5 of the booklet (https://yearcompass.com/); I’ve also copied them out for ease of reading below:

-personal life / family
-career / studies
-friends / community
-relaxation / hobbies / creativity
-physical health / fitness
-mental health / self-knowledge
-habits that define you
-a better tomorrow

IMPORTANT #1: some preparation is required:

  1. Please PRINT the booklet (or SAVE it on a device) and bring it to the event. Mainly you just need page 5. It’s available in multiple languages.
  2. At the very least, give the exercises on page 4 and 5 some thought BEFORE the event.
  3. The amount of life topics we can cover will depend on group size.
  4. I’m expecting a baby in January :) but I’m hopeful I’ll be able to organise a “2026 - looking ahead” event for the second part of the Year Compass by February/March :)

IMPORTANT #2: I appreciate that these can be very emotional topics, and that a lot of people struggle with them. This meetup is for discussing how we have grown in these areas and how we still want to grow - it is NOT group therapy support, and it is NOT the place to vent about your challenges.
It is a place for reflection and constructive story-sharing so we can learn from each and support each other in further personal growth.

The focus is sharing our perspectives and experiences, getting inspired, and identifying small actionable steps to move forward in our personal development.
Something obvious for you may not be obvious for someone else, so everyone's story has the potential to make a positive impact :)

Logistics:
1. As the attendee list here is limited to 10 people, please message me if you would like to join but the list is already full.

2. Any behaviour that makes people uncomfortable will not be tolerated. No ableism, no racism, no transphobia - no matter how subtle.

3. If you have any questions or need accommodations, please message me and I will do my best to adjust the event so it is a welcoming, safe, and accessible space for you.

4. This event is FREE. You are not allowed to use this group to advertise any paid services.
