Introduction to Home Assistant - Piotr Kula (30 mins)
Everybody loves the idea of a smart home but the reality of using multiple vendors soon turns into a nightmare. Home Assistant started out with the goal of offering an open source, centralised control system for all IoT. There are signs that it could have disrupted the multi-billion-dollar industry - which probably forced the big corporations to create the royalty free standard, called Matter.

Visualising data: Charting my journey from Excel to JavaScript - Dan Watt (30 mins)
Dan began his career as an excel analyst and Tableau consultant. Next came the painful transition to full stack developer and startup CTO, working with D3.js and React. Along the way he's learnt a lot about making charts in web applications. This talk will be a whistlestop tour of some of the fundamentals, useful tools and packages.

IDST! Art and Tech Makers Sessions - Nick Young & Neil Puttick (10 mins)
A brief introduction to IDST! and their Thursday Makers Sessions upstairs at The Heritage Centre. Find out what they are creating in their techspace lair and get involved with Raspberry Pi, laser cutters and tools. From communicating Christmas tree lights to spy briefcases to miniature Macclesfields, they talk about some of their creations.
