Bonus event: #MLDublin meets Microsoft @ Microsoft One

Details

Meet up number #26A!!! A bonus meetup taking place on US Independence Day 4th July 2018 at Microsoft's awesome new building in Leopardstown. This meetup is in ADDITION to our usual 'last Monday of the Month' meetup. We are grateful to Microsoft for hosting this event in their great new facility in South Dublin.

Microsoft is running a Machine Learning OpenHack event in their new fancy campus in Dublin in July where some of their top machine learning engineers are flying in from across the world especially for the event. Microsoft have kindly offered to host our Meetup in conjunction with the Machine Learning OpenHack on the 4th of July and have asked some of their machine learning engineers to do some lightening talk sessions for our members.

OpenHack runs from the 3rd to the 5th of July, for more information on OpenHack see the event page:

AGENDA:

[18:00 - 18:15] Welcome, Networking

[18:15 - 18:45] Dr Andrew Fryer

Agile AI: how to get data science working

Over the last 5 years AI has come out of R&D and become a mainstream tool aimed at augmenting human intelligence. As AI applications become integral parts of business processes, and soon mission critical processes, AI models and algorithms are subject to the same sort of pressures as applications - they need to be refined and modified without any downtime, they need to be audited and logged and they should only be updated if it offers a measurable improvement over the previous variant or version. There is an urgent need for application of agile development and DevOps into data science: we need Agile AI. Andrew will discuss what can be done to make AI more agile, keep data scientists focused on what they love, and build robust service delivery approaches to AI.

[18:45 - 19:15] Filip Glavota
