We're Back! ML Dublin meets TCD @TANGENT

Details
It's been a long break from the in person meetups and though we've had a few virtual events over the lockdown, they're just not the same. So please join us for what feels like a ML Dublin Launch on Monday 26th September from 6.30pm in Tangent at Trinity College.
Presentations from
1. Matej Ulicny, ADAPT Centre Post-Doctoral Researcher working with Prof Rozenn Dahyot in Maynooth; "Compressing CNNs by Filter Decomposition"
Abstract: "Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are often over-parametrized. This presentation will outline the benefits of smaller models and illustrate the proposed compression method. Convolutional filters can be efficiently compressed by decomposition into the space spanned by the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) basis functions. Extensive experimental validation demonstrates the benefits of the filter decomposition on several image processing tasks.
2. Mayank Soni, PhD student in Conversation AI at ADAPT who will discuss 'An introduction to decoding strategies for text generation'
3. Pallavi Jain, PhD Candidate TU Dublin: “Self-Supervised Learning in Remote Sensing”, which will focus more on current state-of-art in SSL which then will cover the application in remote sensing
Note, places are limited to 80 so please only book if you are sure you will make it in person... otherwise it will prevent someone else from attending. Also this is an in-person only event, there will not be an online option.
