Machine Learning Meet Up

Details

A fascinating Machine Learning Meet Up and Free Pizza. What a way to say goodbye to January. Join us at the Global Room in Trinity College on Monday 27th at 6.00pm. Our first ML Meet up of 2025 is sponsored by Reliaquest who are using AI to solve some of the most complex problems in the cybersecurity industry.
Clare Conran, Senior Project Manager at Reliaquest and former ADAPTER will be speaking about "AI Trends and Applications in Cybersecurity." ReliaQuest is a dynamic organization at the forefront of data-driven innovation, dedicated to solving real-world problems through the power of analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Clare will talk about how RQ are using cutting edge Gen AI tools and coupling these with more traditional data orchestration techniques like knowledge graphs, embeddings, and clustering. This is work that should be of interest to any Data Scientist who is game for a challenge.

Rising ADAPT Star and award winner Louise McCormack's talk “Equipping Your AI Council for the AI Act Era” offers a quick breakdown of down the immediate priorities for any organisation’s AI Council under the new AI Act. Learn actionable steps to assess compliance, mitigate risks and integrate trustworthy AI principles into your governance framework for long-term success.

Louise is a PhD researcher working to advance ethical standards in artificial intelligence at Adapt Centre in the University of Galway. Her work focuses on developing tools to evaluate and quantify the trustworthiness of AI systems, ensuring they align with ethical principles such as fairness, transparency, accountability, and human oversight. She is currently working as a Trustworthy AI consultant for a number of global companies.

Finish off the evening with a slice of pizza and a coke and chat with some fascinating like-minded individuals. You never know who you will meet and what you might learn. Sign up today
