#37 MLMilan: Data privacy and unleashing ChatGPT

ML Milan is back in February where we will explore two hot topics, one on Data Privacy and a deep dive on ChatGPT. The event will be held online via Zoom and the talks will be held in English.

Talk 1: “Data privacy in the age of AI”
“Data can either be useful or perfectly anonymous but never both” - Paul Ohm
Most AI models based on Machine Learning are data intensive, and often have to use personal or privacy sensitive data for training. With GDPR already regulating the use of personal data in AI models for automated decision making, and the upcoming AI act, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and miss the actual point, that is, the relationship between data privacy and AI.
Privacy and AI go beyond just data protection, and security, and also have significant ethical and societal implications.
In this talk I will throw light on the importance of understanding this relationship not just from a regulation perspective but also to have a future proof strategy to set up privacy-by-design processes to efficiently use data for AI in a responsible and secure manner.

Shalini Kurapati, Clearbox AI
Shalini is the co-founder and CEO Clearbox AI, a synthetic data company. She has a multi-disciplinary and international research and professional experience in data privacy, ethics and stewardship. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E)

Talk 2: “Unleashing ChatGPT potential to boost 10X creators' productivity”

You must have heard about ChatGPT lately, how it disrupts various fields in content writing, coding, answering complex questions, etc..
Well, what you have heard is True, but wait, there is more.
In this talk we will deep dive into ChatGPT, starting from what it is, how it’s designed and what it can do to developers, writers, thinkers, literally to anyone who speaks a language.
We also explore the top questions asked so far in various fields and analyze the answers that we got from ChatGPT, Some are smart, Some are okay, Some are scary.
At the end, we will discuss how we boost our productivity with it and what it means to us going forward in AI research.
