Machine Learning newbies reading group

This is a group for people with some coding or bioinformatics experience who are interested in learning both basic and advanced machine learning concepts, with the goal of implementing machine learning in their own projects. We will meet once a week for an hour to go through "Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras, and TensorFlow (O’Reilly)". There is no strict schedule, the idea is to progress at a comfortable pace, typically reading a chapter or section of a chapter in each session and discuss afterwards. As the book becomes more hands-on, we will also use laptops during sessions to work through examples, troubleshoot together, and apply what we’re learning in practice. The goal of this group is to create a motivating and supportive environment to stay consistent, learn machine learning in a structured but flexible way, and help each other build confidence in applying these methods to real-world problems. :)
