MLT "Women in Machine Learning" in collaboration with Google Japan is part of our Diversity and Inclusion efforts. This event aims to inform, support and empower women considering a career in Machine Learning (engineering and research), Data Science and related fields. ** SPEAKER DETAILS **

ANJA AUSTERMANN is a software engineer at Google Translate. She received her PhD in computer science from the Graduate University for Advanced Studies in Tokyo, specializing in human-robot interaction. She is also running the women engineers ERG at Google Tokyo.

DANIELLE DELATTE is finishing a PhD in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Tokyo. Her research involves using machine learning for evaluating planetary images (primarily of Mars). She is an alumnae of MIT and the International Space University. Following her masters, she worked on International Space Station payload missions and robotic tools for the Canadarm. In Tokyo, she hosts Space Cafe Tokyo and founded Japan's first Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) chapter at the University of Tokyo.

TARIN CLANUWAT received her PhD in Japanese literature from Waseda University specialized in the Tale of Genji commentary books from 12th to 15th century. Her research is focused on Kuzushiji recognition system using machine learning and other Kuzushiji project such as Kuzushiji-MNIST dataset.

ETSUKO TANE is the Market Researcher for Brainpad and leads marketing strategy in the Analytics Service Division. She is engaged in knowledge management of data scientists and industry-university collaboration. She also serves as an organizer of Data Scientist Women and vice-chair of Research and Study Committee of The Data Scientist Society of Japan.
