What we're about

We meet every month to play test new board and card game ideas, and occasionally other types of games. We discuss game design, work out mechanics, and so on.

Likewise, even if you're not working on a game, but like to play cool games then come play with us.

Bughouse Chess

Needs a location

Bughouse Chess is a fast-paced team variant of regular Chess. When your partner captures a piece, you can place it on your board on subsequent moves. This leads to a chaotic back-and-forth flow. When a player is checkmated or runs out of time, the opposing team wins!

Pros:

  • Wow, this game is a blast
  • Knowledge of Bughouse not needed - we'll teach you how to play
  • Make friends with an eclectic bunch of ne'er-do-wells

Cons:

  • Regular Chess will forever seem a bit stale once you discover the excitement of Bughouse.

Please join us at I'm Board in Middleton on alternating Tuesdays at 6:30 PM.

See the policies for gaming at I'm Board here:

(Notably, COVID vaccines are required and there is a $5 cover charge to use their gaming area.)
