The arrival of spring marks the return of the seasonal restaurant Brisa do Mar, at Reid's Palace, A Belmond Hotel, in Madeira. To mark the official reopening, the space receives on April 24 a four-hand dinner that promises to be one of the highlights of the island's gastronomic agenda, 'Zélia & Noélia', with chefs Zélia Santos and Noélia Jerónimo side by side in the kitchen.
The event celebrates two women in the leadership of Portuguese cuisine and honors the authentic flavors of the country, with the sea as a common thread. Chef Zélia Santos, who leads Brisa do Mar since 2024, brings with her the identity of Madeiran cuisine and the recovery of traditional techniques. Chef Noélia Jerónimo, known for the Noélia Restaurant and the Marina with Noélia in the Algarve, prints on her dishes the memory of the sea, the simplicity and comfort that mark her kitchen.
The exclusive menu created for the occasion travels through the Portuguese territory from North to South. It opens with a fish soup, followed by a lemon rice with fish from the Mercado dos Lavradores, and a duck leg with regional couscous. The end is in charge of an Alentejo sericaia with the personal touch of Chef Zélia. To accompany, a wine pairing prepared by the restaurant's 'sommelier', with bottles from different regions of Portugal.
The night starts at 7:30 pm with a welcome cocktail and three vegetarian, meat and fish canapés served at the Brisa do Mar Lounge, with a privileged view of the Atlantic.
The live music will be in charge of Tiago Sena Silva, a young musician from Madeira.
