On December 6, Reid's Palace will host the third and last event "A Taste of the Stars" which, in anticipation of the Michelin gala taking place in Madeira, brings together starred chefs recommended by the famous guide on a night of ode to Madeiran cuisine.
The host of this exclusive dinner will be the chef José Diogo Costa, from William Restaurant (1 Michelin star), who receives Benoit Sinthon (Il Gallo d'Oro, 2 Michelin stars and Estrela Verde), Júlio Pereira (Akua, Recommended) and Gonçalo Bita Bota (Oxális, Recommended).
In anticipation of the long-awaited gastronomic awards, which should be awarded during the Michelin Gala taking place in Madeira, this series of dinners "A Taste of the Stars" aims to publicize not only the richness of local products, but also to praise the best in Madeiran gastronomy. In this exclusive menu, the chefs present a five-moment dinner, carefully harmonized not only by wines, but also by the island's first non-alcoholic pairing, launched earlier this year by chef José Diogo Costa. For this harmonization option, William's chef created a panoply of unique drinks made from reused ingredients among the various restaurants of Reid's Palace, such as personalized kombucha, non-alcoholic kwass (made of bread) or lacto-fermented drinks that rescue the essence of local ingredients.
To welcome the diners on this very special evening, there will be canapés and a Cocktail with homemade Cider from William Restaurant, served in the restaurant's foyer. The eight-hand menu starts with flavors from the Madeiran Coast: the Scallops with Spices of chef Gonçalo Bita Bota open at night, followed by the interpretation of Smoked Swordfish with banana and passion fruit by Chef Júlio Pereira and the Atlantic Fish with celery and fig leaf from chef José Diogo Costa. In the meat, chef Benoit Sinthon presents his iconic pigeon and eucalyptus dish. For dessert, William's chef highlights the tradition of the island and presents the recreation of the regional drink "Pé-de-Cabra", transformed into an indulgent dessert.
Dedicated to all fine dining lovers, the "A Taste of the Stars" dinner will take place on December 6, at the William Restaurant of Reid's Palace, and has a cost of €250.00 per person (including wine pairing or non-alcoholic pairing). The event will start at 19:00.
