Meetup for Reproductive Justice/Birthworkers and Health Equity Advocates

Let's gather! In our first meeting, we'll get to know one another and have a chance to identify the goals that our community would like to work towards, and the superpowers we bring to the table. One way that I can contribute is to facilitate mindfulness-based compassionate communication, and I work within health care to bring about systemic change as a result of our inner work- unhooking from all of our habits and conditioning and the practices of healing-informed care. It is a practice! In this time more than ever, it's helpful to come with humility and curiosity if we're new to the movements of building health equity and reproductive justice. I'll offer up some structure for the conversation, but you create it! Welcome are co-facilitators, guest speakers, elders /teachers, and co-creating.

We'll briefly introduce:
Frameworks for community organizing- What is your experience?
Tending to the Garden you Can Reach- Where can you do what's in front of you?
Guidance on 'the work': What do leaders in reproductive justice/birth equity ask of us? How can we be sure to center the experiences of those most impacted by restrictions on reproductive care and limited access?
And we'll focus on building friendship, trust and self-care/community health as a foundation for all the gatherings yet to come! Be prepared to come as our authentic selves, and to create together a commitment to listen, and a place to be heard.

This is NOT a space to debate the rights of everybody to wellbeing and to reproductive and maternal health equity.
