Morning miles at Cross Plains State Park [**Travel Thursday**]

While MTR normally meets at the Arb on Thursday mornings, one Thursday per month (usually the last) is a traveling location. For our September traveling event, we will head west of Madison to Cross Plains State Park.

We will meet at 6 am in the main parking lot at Cross Plains State Park at 8030 Old Sauk Pass Rd. In late September the sunrise will be around 6:45 am, so please bring a headlamp.

We will run for about 60 minutes total, with the pace around 9:00-9:30 min/mile. If there is enough interest, we will split into pace groups with at least one group going at a pace of 10-11min/mile. Otherwise, we will default to the pace listed above.

The planned route will include trails through the State Park and the Ice Age Trail, including the IAT segment that was build in October 2023 with the help of a Madison Trail Runners crew. You are welcome to head back to the parking lot earlier at any point of the run you wish if you're looking for a shorter outing on the trails.
