ABOUT
AI coding assistants are powerful tools that help speed up application development, including the exploration of new ideas through rapid prototyping. However, without clear direction, these tools might take approaches that deviate from your intended architecture and standards, or worse, fail to capture the business intent.
In this talk, we'll learn how to use AI effectively by setting coding directives and clear specifications before writing code. We'll walk through a complete feature lifecycle—from business requirements to deployable code—demonstrating how Specification-Driven Development (SDD) keeps humans in control while AI speeds up delivery.
Presenter
Julio Villalta, Principal Architect, nvisia
Julio spends his days helping engineering teams rethink how they build software in the age of AI. With more than a decade of experience in full-stack development and architecture, he's passionate about applying practical, real-world approaches to problems like AI-assisted development—especially specification-driven workflows that teams can adopt. When he’s not working with teams or exploring new AI practices, he’s likely researching emerging tech, trying out new recipes, or spending time with his family.
