The Intersection of AI and IoT
~Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things are two rapidly advancing technologies currently mired at the intersection of hype versus potential. On the one hand, businesses are leveraging IoT to create new networks of products and services. The challenge is finding insights in terabytes of real-time data. It’s simply impossible for humans (or traditional analytics) to understand and act on all of that data. One the other hand, AI, while likely the most disruptive technology of the next decade, needs a connection to the physical world. By combining the two, the potential impact increases exponentially.
~ Brent Leland, a Partner at Cimphoni, will attempt to demystify the hype and discuss how combining AI with other emerging technologies such as IoT can deliver innovative solutions that transform businesses, disrupt markets, and create competitive differentiations.
~ He will also provide an introduction to Advancing AI Wisconsin, a grassroots initiative to increase awareness of AI and other disruptive technologies in Wisconsin.
~ Brent Leland is the co-founder of Cimphoni, a boutique consulting firm focused on business and IT transformation. Prior to that, Brent was the CIO of Trek Bicycles. Earlier in his career, Brent held various business, engineering, and IT roles for Spectrum Brands, Hewlett-Packard, and General Dynamics. Brent holds an MBA from Stanford and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida.
