1️⃣ "Supercharging Grafana with Community Plugins" by Imma Valls, Staff Developer Advocate at Grafana Labs
Grafana is powerful on its own, but its true potential lies in its vibrant community of plugin developers. In this talk, we'll delve into how community plugins extend Grafana's core functionality, enabling you to connect to a broader range of data sources and visualize your data in new and innovative ways. We'll introduce the Kafka Data Source plugin as a practical example, demonstrating how it enables you to directly query and visualize Kafka topic data in your dashboards, thereby bypassing the need for intermediate storage or external services.
2️⃣ "Multitenant topics" by Nicanor Romero, Principal Engineer at MasOrange.
This talk explains our approach to multitenant Kafka in the BSS cluster: why we model one logical business event as a family of tenant-specific Kafka topics, how the standard naming convention works, and how this gives us clearer tenant isolation, predictable ownership, and safer operations at scale. We will walk through the topic structure, the role of product domains and tenants, and why putting the tenant in the topic name is central to both automation and authorization.
We will also cover how Topic Operator turns topic management into configuration, automatically associating topics with AVRO schemas and creating tenant-specific topics consistently. Finally, the talk will connect the model to schema evolution, OAuth/Authn-based authorization, consumer group conventions, offset operations, and the main tradeoffs of this approach: more physical topics, but better governance, observability, and control.
