About the Event
Spend your Saturday afternoon soaking in an incredible display of visual art while building community across generations! We are gathering at the Alabama School of Fine Arts to explore how the next generation of local creators are pushing boundaries and redefining creative mediums.

Queer Relevance: The free-form student portfolios inside the Vulcan Materials Gallery provide a raw look at how young storytellers directly navigate personal narratives surrounding identity, gender expression, and belonging, making this an inspiring space for intergenerational dialogue.

This outing is a dedicated, all-ages, intergenerational, and alcohol-free environment designed to bring older artistic mentors and younger community advocates together over a shared love for the Birmingham arts scene.
The Itinerary

• 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Meet inside the Vulcan Materials Gallery for a relaxed, independent walk-through and group chat about the student art pieces.
• 2:45 PM – 4:00 PM: Walk down the street together to Trattoria Zaza (207 20th St N) for an early dinner. This lively Roman-style pizza-al-taglio cafe is perfect for all ages, offering incredible square slices, a full espresso bar, and house-made sodas for excellent non-alcoholic pairings.
