About the Event
Spend your Saturday afternoon experiencing a spectacular double-feature of classical technique and modern choreography! We are gathering for the opening matinee of ASFA Dance Presents: Fall Repertory inside the school's state-of-the-art, 500-seat theater.
This major autumn production showcases the school's upper-level dance students executing a diverse selection of classical ballet, modern, and high-energy contemporary choreography.

• Queer Relevance: Modern and contemporary concert dance has long served as a vital sanctuary for LGBTQ+ artistic expression. This specific showcase intentionally breaks free from the rigid, heteronormative romantic pairings typical of traditional 19th-century story ballets. Instead, it highlights fluid partnering, artistic abstraction, and physical expression that completely transcends standard gender boundaries.

This outing is an intentional, intergenerational, all-ages, and sober-friendly space. We encourage younger advocates, older artistic mentors, and community arts lovers of all age brackets to attend, sit together, and share perspectives. Halloween costumes are welcome but completely optional!
The Itinerary

• 2:15 PM: Meet up in the Dorothy Jemison Day Theater lobby to check in, connect with the group, and find our seats.
• 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Experience the live production of the Fall Repertory Showcase.
• 4:15 PM – 6:00 PM: Head into the heart of downtown to Salud Taqueria (207 19th St N) for an early dinner. It is a highly welcoming Mexican spot serving affordable taco combos paired with an incredible lineup of traditional Aguas Frescas and Mexican sodas, giving us an energetic, inclusive neighborhood hub to debrief on the choreography!
