📢 Early Meetup Announcement: Bob The Drag Queen - Live on Tour! 🎭✨
Hey Magic City Queer Arts fam!
We are announcing this meetup early for logistics purposes to give everyone a chance to plan ahead, coordinate work schedules, and secure seats before they sell out!
Get ready for a night of incredible performance art, sharp comedy, and high-energy showmanship. We are locking in this group outing to see the legendary RuPaul’s Drag Race season 8 winner, activist, and powerhouse performer Bob The Drag Queen live on stage!
Whether you’ve been to every meetup or this will be your first time out with us, we’d love for you to join the crew. Guests, allies, and friends are always welcome—feel free to bring anyone who loves great comedy and queer performance art!
Here are the details for our night out:

  • 📅 Date: Thursday, December 10, 2026 (Please note the officially updated tour date!)
  • ⏰ Meetup Time: 6:00 PM (Show starts shortly after)
  • 📍 Location: Historic Lyric Theatre (1800 3rd Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203)
  • 🎟️ Ticket Prices: Tickets generally start around $63 to $69 for standard seating.
  • 🔗 How to Book: We can unlock a group discount rate if we have 10 or more people interested in attending together! Please RSVP by commenting below as soon as possible if you want in on the group ticket block so we can get an accurate headcount. If you prefer to secure your own seat immediately or miss the group block deadline, individual tickets can be purchased directly via official platforms like Ticketmaster or Vivid Seats.

🍽️ Pre-Show Group Dinner (5:15 PM):

Since this show falls on a weeknight, we are shifting our dinner meetup time to 5:15 PM to give everyone a bit more time to commute downtown after work. We will gather at Trattoria Zaza (207A 20th St N) for budget-friendly Roman pizza slices, seasonal pasta bowls, and drinks before walking over to the theatre together.

  • Can't make it to dinner? No worries at all! If you're running tight on time after work, feel free to skip dinner and meet us directly at the Lyric Theatre lobby at 6:00 PM instead.
  • Alternative Options: If anyone wants a different flavor profile for dinner, The Pizitz Food Hall is right around the corner with diverse food stalls, and Brick & Tin is just an 8-minute walk away.

🚗 Parking Suggestions:

Since the dinner spots and theater are all within a few blocks of each other, parking once downtown covers the whole evening:

  • AirGarage Public Lot (1836 3rd Ave N): A highly convenient open lot located just a 3-minute walk from the Lyric Theatre.
  • The Pizitz Parking Deck (1801 1st Ave N): Safe, covered deck option right by the food hall and a 3-minute walk to the theatre.
  • Street Parking: On-street parallel parking is available throughout the Theatre District, but spots fill up fast on performance nights.

🍹 Post-Show Drinks:

After the final curtain call, we will head over to the LGBTQ+-owned neighborhood staple Pink Lantern to keep the celebration going, relax in a welcoming environment, and chat about the performance over drinks!
Drop a comment or RSVP if you plan on going so we can coordinate the group discount block or save you a seat at the dinner table. See you there! 🙌🏳️‍🌈
