LGBTQ+ Entrepreneur Mixer & Creative Social at Mayawell
Details
Date & Time: Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Location: Mayawell Bar (2900 4th Ave S, Birmingham, AL)
Let’s connect and talk shop! The Magic City Queer Arts group is heading to the rooftop at Mayawell Bar in Lakeview for the LGBTQ+ Entrepreneur Networking Mixer.
Whether you are a freelance artist, independent filmmaker, local performer, writer, or creative small business owner, this is a fantastic opportunity to mingle, share your current projects, and swap contact info with other professionals in a supportive, relaxed environment.
What to expect:
- Free Drinks for Early Birds: The event is sponsored by Shipt to highlight their Ladder Up community accelerator program. As a major perk, the first 20 people to arrive get a free drink voucher from the hosts!
- The Crowd: A diverse, vibrant mix of Birmingham-based creatives, innovators, and independent minds.
- The Vibe: Casual, open-air networking on the rooftop patio. No stuffy speeches—just good drinks, craft tequila, and community connection.
Where to find us:
Look for the Magic City Queer Arts sign on the rooftop patio. We will be hanging out near the outdoor seating area starting right at 5:30 PM. Grab a drink and come say hello!
Parking & Logistics:
- Street Parking: Free parallel parking is available along 4th Avenue South and 29th Street South. Just be sure to double-check any nearby signage.
- Metropolis Parking: There are paid digital lots in the immediate Lakeview area managed by Metropolis Technologies, which can be easily paid for through their app if street spaces are full.
Bonus Movie Night Double Feature!
For anyone wanting to keep the evening going, we have an incredible community crossover lined up! This mixer happens the same night as the free SHOUT Movie Night screening of the queer camp classic Addams Family Values (1993) downtown at Sidewalk Cinema. Don't worry about missing out—a group of us will be wrapping up on the Mayawell rooftop slightly early around 6:15 PM to head straight over to the theater together. It is the perfect way to combine an evening of professional networking with a fun, inclusive night of local independent cinema!
Feel free to bring a friend or creative partner who might be interested in expanding their local network. See you there!
