Take a break from the holiday rush and join Magic Hour Adventures for fresh air, lake views, and good company! We’ll explore the Wizard of Oz Loop at Antietam Lake Park, then wander along part of the lake before heading to The New Bertie’s Inn for a beverage, a burger, and more time to connect.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗲
The Wizard of Oz Loop is approximately 2 miles with 180 feet of elevation gain. Our lakeside extension will add some distance. Expect wooded paths, exposed roots, rocks, and short hills along the way. The loop is rated easy, but you’ll want to be comfortable walking on uneven ground.

We’ll keep a friendly pace with time to enjoy the scenery. Wear sturdy hiking shoes, dress in warm layers, and bring water. December conditions could be muddy or icy, so we’ll adjust our route as needed and aim to finish hiking before dark.

Meet at 2:45 PM at the Mount Penn Trailhead parking lot on Angora Road, Reading, PA.

The Mount Penn Trailhead has a larger parking lot, but please arrive early and carpool where possible.

Our planned gathering wraps up at 6:00 PM, but you’re welcome to stay for live music with Shea Quinn of The Sharks and Steve Swisher from 7:00–10:00 PM. If you plan to stay for music, text Bertie’s at 484-578-9991 to reserve a seat.

Come on your own or bring a friend. There’s something special about getting outside together and carrying those conversations over to the table afterward.
