London Creative Coding **Virtual Meetup** - November 2020!
Details
Good evening everyone, hope you're all hanging in there!
So we're back with another meetup. This time we're spicing things up, and instead of our usual 3 talks, we have a bunch of short demos lined up. Less talk, more action 👊🏻
It's not too late to get involved, so if you have something up your sleeve then get in touch. The idea is to give anyone of any background or experience a chance to show something they've been working on.
After all the talks/demos we're going to head over to Mozilla hubs where we can catch up and chat like it's 2019, kinda!?
So far we have:
## Work-in-progress React/ThreeJS experiment for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year website - A run through by developer Dhia Shakiry
## IRL: Finding Realness, Meaning, and Belonging in Our Digital Lives - a game designed and developed by Julia makivic
## A failed attempt at “Calculating Infinity” - A data visualisation by Matt Garrod
## A new creative coding/generative artwork everyday in October based on the prompts from the Inktober challenge - Demos by interaction designer/freelance data viz whizz Dominikus Baur
## Data sonification experiments in turning a chess games into music - A talk by UX engineer Joe Lamb
## A halloween installation using sensors to trigger animations and sounds - A demo by interactive developer Christian Bianchini
## The Sound of Art, interactive programmable electronic devices for making sound and visualisations - demo by electronic and programming hobbyist Brian Moreau
## Teaching kids (average age 9) and tech-shy adults to code using a visual/art approach... and the simple.js extension I wrote to make p5js even easier for this group - talk by Tariq Rashid
## Visualising sports analytics data using computer vision - demo of some Processing prototypes by Interaction (and Data) designer Katrin Ho
## Assembly Now [online] - a virtual experience which inaugurated Metro Arts’ Gallery One at West Village, as part of Brisbane Festival 2020 - Sally Golding, Matt Spendlove (Spatial) and Tim Cowlishaw
It would be great if we can all make the effort and put our web cams on, so have a bath, put some clothes on etc etc 😉
Will send out the links nearer the time!
