Open Space and Invitational Leadership in Agile Adoptions to Drive Engagement

Details
Our June Online Meet-up session is presented by Simon Roberts, Agile and Lean Enterprise Coach (ORSC™ Trained), Certified Scrum Trainer® and Scrum@Scale® Trainer.
Simon says:
I believe there is a conflict between forcing agile on people and the values and principles of agile itself. The best agile adoptions involve the people doing the work, in the planning and implementation.
I will talk about my experiences using invitational leadership, Open Space Technology and self-selecting teams for agile adoptions with enterprise clients.
I look forward to a discussion after my short presentation.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simon first came across agile methods in the late 1990s through Extreme Programming. At the time, he was working as a project manager, architect and still hands-on programmer in the banking sector in Berlin. XP provided them with a very effective balance between focus, so that they could create great solutions, and responsiveness to changing requirements.
Since 2000, he's been helping organisations, small, medium and large to use agile methods as a means to be more competitive. He coaches and teaches agile methods throughout Europe and sometimes in the USA.
His main focus these days is training and coaching for senior leadership teams so they can better support agile in their organisations, although he loves to keep his hand in by, now and then, doing a coding kata.
