Join us the evening of Thursday May 21th at Novare Res Bier Cafe for an informal evening of connection, conversation, and quickfire inspiration with the MaineR community!

We normally have this on the last Thursday, but this month we're moving it up a week.

At our April meeting, there was a lot of chat about how to use LLMs within your IDE and your DS workflow, so let's plan to have that be our touchpoint to discuss in May.

I will bring my computer to show a couple examples of how I use Claude within the Positron IDE (and show the rest of you it's safe to move over from RStudio), but please bring your own examples and we can have a bit of a show and tell.

Please note the group is growing quickly, so we should expect to sit at different tables (or maybe head to the back room) if the same amount of people from April show up in May.

What to expect:

  • Friendly faces
  • Informal networking (i.e. if you're looking for work, tell the group, bring examples of your work, and tell us if there's anyone we can introduce you to!)
  • Whether you're debugging ggplot2, building dashboards, using Claude within Positron, modeling data, or writing your first R script, we’d love to hear about it.

This group also meets at the same time a Chess group meets at Novare. Several MaineRs in March popped on over to play a game after getting their fill of stats, so don't drink too much beer if you're trying to push up your Portland ELO!

Please RSVP so we know how many to expect.

We hope to see you there!

We will be the group with the wooden R on the table!
