This session is for Level 8 characters, and will be run in campaign mode. If you have a character from Organized Play you'd like to use, great - but you could also make up a new character for the Dark Archive sessions, and credit the Organized Play character of your choice. At this point in the Dark Archive, there are no more pre-generated characters available as they all stop at 5th level; I will not have the usual Iconics available from here on out. I ~will~ have two "pre-generated characters" of my own creation, but... first come, first-served, limited flavors only.
Yes, this module is from the beginning of the Dark Archives... however, everyone in our current group has not played it, to my knowledge. Therefore, instead of obliging everyone to drop back to L3... I souped up Beast into an L8 module instead.
Do not be fooled by things you read on the inter-webs... this is no easy jaunt - and the only thing it shares with Beast, is the name.
If you choose to make your own new character for the Dark Archive, the use of Uncommon and/or Rare elements are allowed. You can use either three Uncommon, or one Rare and one Uncommon, elements in your character creation. And, for the love of all creatures... please explore "Runes" for your gear.
If you haven't played any Dark Archives sessions, you are nevertheless welcome to join us. Same rules for characters apply as above.
Lastly... please join us on Discord! Here's a handy link: https://discord.gg/wFwEdaf7

# The Beast of Birchfrost
Strange creatures seem to come up most often at the fringes of society, where they can easily fade into the background. The town of Birchfrost, off the Lake of Mists and Veils, has a legend of a local creature, once responsible for protecting the town. If there is anything more to this so-called “Beast of Birchfrost,” I am sure that the slightest change in circumstance might herald a dangerous change in the Beast, one the Archive would do well to mind. — K.H.W.
