Hi, my name is Erik. I live in Austin, Texas and would like to grow this new general networking group called “Make a Movie a Month Club — in Austin, Texas.”
I am a filmmaker, camera person, and musician myself, and I thought that creating a group would be a great way for people to meet and collaborate on short movie projects together.
The last film I made, called “Route”, was filmed over the course of a year, and one thing I learned is that people get tired of making a movie when it’s done over such a long period of time, lol.
But 48 hours is way too short to make anything in my opinion…I then figured that perhaps a month to make a movie would be a good time frame, or at least a short film.
This would be an ongoing collaborative for people to share their talents and create short movies.
I would like this club to be a
a networking site with people free
to work on their individual projects with the people they work best with.
There are lots of different philosophies on how to do things. Some people prefer guerilla filmmaking where we just jump right in with the resources we have. Some people want to spend a lot more time on preproduction and might want to have much bigger and elaborate crews than the
guerilla filmmakers.
Both methods are valid.
But by allowing multiple projects with many different writers and directors splitting up into like-minded groups, I think we will be more easily able to accomodate everyone in this group.
So, I would like to open it up to everyone on how they want to manage their individual projects. There will be no time limits or day restrictions, only the agreement between members of each group on how many hours they want to spend on it, and they can decide how big their crews need to be, etc. These decisions will be made
by the group of each project.
I want to accomodate as many people as possible on here.
You are now free to use the Discord server for your projects and recruit your own crews using all of the great contact info we have collected so far.
