Take it Apart Tuesday @ River Valley Co-op

Details
MakeFixHack presents:
Take it Apart Tuesday
or
What’s Inside This Thing Anyway?
Join us for a family-friendly, hands-on, interactive session where we’ll explore the whys and hows of taking things apart in a safe and (mostly) non-destructively manner.
What to bring:
- your curiosity/your curious kid
- something you want to take apart*
- a paper bag or box to carry home what you took apart
We will have:
- a variety of appropriate tools for removing normal and security screws, case crackers, prybars, wedges, and other things to open plastic cases
- safety glasses
- discarded hard drives to take apart
- the experience of at least one professional thing-fixer
- the collected knowledge of all humanity (a.k.a. the internet)
All are welcome and no experience is needed. This is a kid friendly and safe event, however adults without kids are welcome to join us as well. Also, we do ask that a responsible adult work with their kids, as there is a potential to encounter minor hazards such as sharp objects.
*good items to bring: broken mechanical/electronic toys, small expendable appliances, dead laptops, etc
*things to avoid: microwaves, old tube TVs/monitors, grandfather's pocket watch, family heirlooms, etc
