MAKE YOUR OWN 3D PRINTER

WHAT IS A SHORT DESCRIPTION?
In this class, students will use a kit to assemble their own Prusa i3 printer, which they will then get to keep and take home. They will also learn how to connect the printer to their computer, set it up and actually make things.

The printer they will be making is a generic clone of the Prusa i3 MK2
WHAT IS THE DATE OF THE CLASS?
Saturday, June 22
THE SIGNUP FOR THIS CLASS WILL CLOSE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 1 AT 10 AM
WHAT IS THE START TIME OF THE CLASS?
10 am to 4 pm
HOW LONG IS THE CLASS?
4 to 6 hours
WHAT DOES THE STUDENT NEED TO KNOW OR HOW TO DO AS A PREREQUISITE?
There are no prerequisites for this class other than having a computer and being able to operate it.
WHAT SHOULD THE STUDENT BRING TO THE CLASS? COMPUTER?
If the student brought a computer to class (Windows or Mac) they will be able to connect their new 3D printer to it and begin to make things
WHAT WILL THEY LEARN HOW TO DO AFTER THE CLASS IS OVER?
They will know how the parts of a 3D printer go together and what they do. The will also learn how to modify and use the software to control the printer.
WHAT IS THE COST OF THE CLASS?
$225 and this INCLUDES the cost of the Prusa i3 3D printer kit
ARE THERE ANY OTHER COSTS OR EXPENSES?
There are no other costs. All of the material cost is included in the cost of the class
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS?
For space and operations reasons, this class has a maximum capacity of 10 students but registration will be closed a week in advance to allow for ordering the kits. For the same reasons, people will NOT be allowed to just pop-in and be part of the class.
